How To Pick Pet Collars & Leashes

Keeping dogs as pets requires more than just love and care. •Martingale collars. One of the most popular types of collars for dogs is the martingale collar, which is designed to follow the martingale collars that are used on horses. This will allow you to give a gentle pull for controlling the dog, if you are training your pet. Care must be taken with the slip collars, however, since too much pressure can be uncomfortable for the dog.
•Retractable leashes. When it comes to leashes, you can try out the retractable leashes that is connected to a handle that will automatically retract the unused portions of the rope, so that a dog can explore an area while in a leash, and without suddenly finding his leash in a tangle. The retractable leashes often have mechanisms to still allow dog owners to use the leash to control the dog.
•Rubber leashes. Rubber or nylon leashes are much cheaper and are available in long lengths. These are easy to maintain and can easily be cleaned with soap and water. The rubber leashes are also very flexible, so that a dog’s head will not accidentally snap back if the dog runs after something that catches his interest.
•Chain leashes. Chain leashes have are one of the most popular leashes because they can be attached to essentially any dog collar, and are very strong and sturdy. If you will use chain leashes, make sure that it is made from lightweight stainless metal materials so that the leash will be easy to clean and easy to use.
